About this work
This print by George Hawkins shows the interior of the Guildhall, looking toward a large pointed-arch window with tracery and a central monument. A coffered timber ceiling spans the hall, and a large sculptural group stands against the right-hand wall, with an ornate gallery above. Small figures, including a man with a dog and several women in long dresses, populate the stone floor.
