About this work
This hand-colored print titled Fox Hunting: Leicestershire - The Death, dated 1827, shows a hunting party gathered around a pack of hounds at the moment of the kill. Men in red coats and top hats sit or stand beside their horses while the dogs crowd the grass in the foreground, with a wide open countryside and bare trees stretching into the distance. The work is attributed to Theodore Henry Adolphus Fielding.
