About this work
This black-and-white woodcut shows three armored figures standing side by side, each wearing plate armor, chain mail, and plumed or crested helmets. Two of them carry heraldic shields decorated with lion and eagle devices, and the inscription at the top names the figures as the Three Pagan Heroes. The work is a 1519 print by Hans Burgkmair, held in the Wikimedia Commons collection.
