About this work

An oil sketch of a rural scene shows a cottage with a red-tiled roof beside tall trees, a windmill on a rise to the right, and a rainbow arching across a darkened sky. Cattle and figures appear in the middle ground, and the dark, churning clouds are rendered in loose, textured brushwork.
