About this work
A green-toned lithographic poster advertising La Vie parisienne, an opera-bouffe in five acts, with music by J. Offenbach and words by Henri Meilhac and Ludovic Halévy. Central figures in nineteenth-century dress dance with raised arms, surrounded by vignettes of revelers, a figure in a top hat, and a still life of bottles and glasses. The poster is credited to Jules Chéret and dated 1866.
