Stefano della Bella left 1052 prints and several thousand drawings, but only one known painting. Born in Florence to a family of artists, he was first apprenticed to a goldsmith and later studied etching under Remigio Cantagallina. In 1633 he moved to Rome, where he drew views and antiquities for six years. From 1639 he worked in Paris for about eleven years, and most of his prints date from that time. Back in Florence, he taught drawing to the grand duke's son, Cosimo III de' Medici. Browse 2,340 works by Stefano Della Bella, free to download in HD.
