Jacobus Harrewijn made engraved plans of Dutch fortified towns on the Rhine and Meuse. He was baptized in Amsterdam in 1660 and married there. He joined the Antwerp Guild in 1688 and remarried a year later in Deurne. He worked mostly in the Spanish Netherlands and later the Austrian Netherlands, and spent almost twenty years in Brussels, where he was buried in 1727. Some sources have him working in The Hague after that date, which doesn't fit with his burial. Browse 128 works by Jacobus Harrewijn from 2 museums, free to download in HD.
