Gabriel Huquier left Orléans for Paris in 1727 and opened a workshop on the rue Saint-Denis. In 1734 he etched Andromeda, his first print after François Boucher, and he later published more than eighty of Boucher's prints. He also engraved and adapted Watteau's designs for ornament. His prints became the main source through which Watteau's ornament was known in the 18th century. Huquier collected art as well, and his collections were sold at three large auctions in Amsterdam and Paris. Browse 125 works by Gabriel Huquier from 6 museums, free to download in HD.
