Caspar Luyken made prints and illustrations with his father, Jan Luyken, and he worked mostly in Amsterdam. Together they produced Het Menselyk Bedryf, known in English as The Book of Trades, in 1694. In 1699 he moved to Nuremberg to work with Christoph Weigel the Elder. He stayed about six years and published his Gallery of Late 17th-century Costume there. This Dutch illustrator and engraver died in 1708, the same year he and his father illustrated Weigel's Historiae Celebriores Veteris Testamenti Iconibus Representatae.
