In 1874 Berthe Morisot showed ten works at the first Impressionist exhibition, and she was the only woman in it. She was born in Bourges and moved to Paris as a child, where she learned by copying paintings at the Louvre. She married Eugène Manet, the brother of her friend Édouard Manet, and their daughter Julie often posed for her. Her works are almost always small, and most show family, children and flowers. She died of pneumonia in Paris in 1895. Browse 114 works by Berthe Morisot from 40 museums, free to download in HD. Source: Wikipedia
