Agostino Veneziano
134 works
Agostino Veneziano trained in Venice and began by copying prints by Albrecht Dürer and Giulio Campagnola.
By 1516 he had joined Marcantonio Raimondi's printmaking workshop in Rome. The workshop broke up when Rome was sacked in 1527, but most of his plates escaped being melted down by Charles V's soldiers. In his own day his best known prints were the ones he made after Raphael and Giulio Romano. He went back to Rome in 1531 and is assumed to have died there, though there is no documentation.
