About this work

This tempera painting shows three archangels in richly patterned robes of red, gold and blue, with peacock-eyed wings, standing before a landscape with a city on the right. Tobias holds a large fish, and a small dog walks beside him. Two kneeling angels at the bottom frame a small crucifixion panel, and a dragon lies at the feet of the armored archangel.
