A dense bouquet of tulips, roses, poppies and other blossoms rises from a vase on a stone ledge against a dark background. An orange, a sprig of wheat and several butterflies and insects are arranged around the base, as is typical of Dutch flower still lifes. Rachel Ruysch's Blumenstrauß, painted in 1708, is held by the Bavarian State Painting Collections.
