This oil sketch presents a proposed wall scheme with three framed scenes above a painted architectural base and a stair motif. The central panel shows a construction scaffold with figures on a stair, while side panels depict a seated figure before a canvas and artists working at easels. Carl Larsson's 1890 design for the Nationalmuseum lower hall is preserved in this record.
