A kneeling bearded man in a red mantle lifts his hands in prayer beside a white lamb, with a rocky cave to the left and a wide landscape of trees and distant hills to the right. A small scroll with partly visible lettering lies at the lower edge, and a faint halo appears above the figure's head. This painting, John the Baptist in Prayer by Juan van der Hamen, is dated 1620.
