About this work
Max Pechstein's painting Blühende Kiefern in den Dünen from 1949 shows a flowering pine with yellow blossoms and green needles in the foreground beside a sandy path. Rolling dunes in yellow and pink stretch toward a blue sky with soft white clouds, where smaller wind-bent trees crown the hills.
