About this work

A dense ink and graphite drawing shows a contorted, muscular figure with bird-like and reptilian features leaping across a shaded ground, holding a disc-like form. Stylized palm trees and a classical colonnade appear at the upper edges, and a handwritten Polish caption runs along the left side. The work is dated 1920 and signed Witkiewicz.
