A hanging scroll painting shows a richly plumed rooster with red comb, orange-brown and white feathers, and long black-and-white tail feathers standing on a rock beside flowering sunflowers and morning glories climbing among broad green leaves. The figure is rendered with fine detailed brushwork against a plain muted ground, with a signature and red seal inscribed at the left. Rooster and Sunflowers by Itō Jakuchū, dated 1759, is held by the Museum of the Imperial Collections.
