About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole pear with a brown stem beside a cut half revealing pale flesh and a central seed cavity with seeds. The fruit is shaded with soft gray cast shadows on an off-white ground, and handwritten catalogue notes appear in the lower left and right.
