About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole Conference pear with a brown stem and a halved pear beside it, revealing pale flesh and a dark seed. The sheet bears handwritten labels with the number 40803, the variety name Conference, Mich. Exp. Sta. So. Haven, Mich. and the signature of R. C. Steadman dated 1916. The work is catalogued in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
