About this work
A watercolor botanical illustration shows two Bosc pears on cream paper: one whole pear with a brown-orange russeted skin and a slender stem, and one pear sliced lengthwise to reveal pale flesh, a central core with dark seeds, and a small calyx at the base. This work by J. Marion Shull, dated 1935, is held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection at the National Agricultural Library.
