About this work
This watercolor on paper shows two lemons, one above the other, with the upper fruit yellow and partly covered by blue-green mold and the lower fruit green and wrinkled with advanced decay. The handwritten inscription identifies the variety as Lisbon, the Sweetwater Fruit Co. of Bonita, California, and the stage as advanced. The work is attributed to Elsie Lower Pomeroy and dated 1910.
