About this work
Two lemons are rendered in watercolor on a cream sheet, one showing speckled brown spotting across its surface and the other showing larger brown lesions with a stem end visible. The pair is labeled with an inventory number and the names G. W. Hosford, Pasadena, Los Angeles, Calif. and dated by Ellen Isham Schutt in 1909. The work is a pomological study of Citrus limon held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
