About this work
A single pear, Kieffer Cross (Pyrus communis), is painted in watercolor on cream paper with a brown curved stem and a yellow-green body blushed with red speckles. The fruit is centered on the sheet, with a faint rectangular border visible around it. The work is attributed to J. Marion Shull and dated 1917, from the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
