About this work
A watercolor study of a single Clairgeau pear (Pyrus communis) shown in three-quarter view with a dark brown stem, its skin blending golden yellow with a red blush and speckled russet. The handwritten label in the lower left gives the accession number, variety name, and place of origin in Monterey, California, and the lower right bears the artist's signature and dates.
