About this work
Two pears of the cultivar Bossock are shown in a watercolor by Royal Charles Steadman, dated 1922, one upright with its stem visible and one inverted showing its calyx end. Their yellow-green skin is flecked with russet spots, and the image sits within a cream decorative border from the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
