About this work
A watercolor study shows a whole pear with a red blush over greenish-yellow skin dotted with brown specks, alongside a cross-section revealing pale flesh, a central core, and seeds. A handwritten label in the lower left reads "Bergamote Esperens" with the note from Austria, and the signature B. Heiges with the date 1901 appears in the lower right.
