About this work
A watercolor study by Deborah Griscom Passmore from 1899 shows a whole pear with a yellow-green skin blushed with red and a long stem, above a halved pear revealing its pale flesh and dark seeds. The handwritten label in the lower corner gives an inventory number and an 1899 date.
