About this work
Two oranges are painted in watercolor on a cream paper sheet, one above the other, with the upper fruit showing bright orange skin speckled with dark spots and the lower fruit more deeply stained. Each has a small green calyx at its stem end. This botanical study, by J. Marion Shull and dated 1916, is held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
