About this work
A single tangerine is painted in orange watercolor on a cream sheet, shown in a slightly tilted view with a small stem nub at the top and a dark brown blemish near the center. The fruit is rendered with soft shading and a textured peel, set against a plain background with the handwritten number 1478 in the upper right corner. This pomological study by J. Marion Shull, dated 1926, belongs to the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
