About this work
A watercolor botanical study on cream paper shows a whole orange-red citrus fruit with a short woody stem above a halved fruit revealing its segmented pulp and central core. The sheet carries handwritten inscriptions identifying the fruit as Early Un-Shu, from H. J. Swingle, and dated 1908 by Deborah Griscom Passmore, held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
