About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole green Fairai Satsuma citrus fruit beneath a cross-section revealing its orange segments and pale pith. Handwritten notes on the sheet give the variety, the grower in Foley, Alabama, and the date 9-25-1919. The work is attributed to Amanda Almira Newton and forms part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
