About this work
A watercolor of a citron cut in half crosswise, showing its pale yellow-green rind, white pith, and segmented pulp with pinkish-edged seeds at the center. The fruit is rendered on a cream sheet with a soft shadow and a handwritten label below giving the number 40291, the name Citron, and the artist's initials with dates in January 1908.
