About this work
A watercolor by Ellen Isham Schutt, dated 1909, shows a whole yellow citrus fruit above a halved specimen revealing pale green segments and four seeds at the center. The fruit is rendered with fine stippled texture and soft shadows on a cream background, with handwritten labels in the lower corners recording the catalogue number, variety name, and dates. The work is catalogued as a painting in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
