About this work
A botanical watercolor shows a branch of grapevine with broad lobed green leaves, a reddish-brown stem, and clusters of small pale green staminate flowers. A separate detached flower cluster appears at lower right on the paper, with handwritten labels reading 'White Staminate' and 'E. F. Cole, Fayetteville, Cumberland Co. N.C.' along with a date of 6.17.07. The work is attributed to Deborah Griscom Passmore and dated 1907 in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
