About this work
A watercolor study of a large cluster of pale green grapes hangs from a woody stem with a curling tendril, rendered with soft shading and small reddish spots on the berries. The sheet carries handwritten notes naming the variety White Corinthe and a Fred L. Hussmann source at Oakville Experimental Vineyard, California. The work is attributed to Ellen Isham Schutt and dated 1911, held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
