About this work
A watercolor on paper from the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection shows two Satsuma oranges, one dark green and one ripened yellow-orange, painted side by side on a cream background. A handwritten inscription beneath reads 'Satsuma Orange, Owari, both picked from same tree at same time, yellow one. 10 days,' with a signature and dates in 1919.
