About this work
A watercolor study by Deborah Griscom Passmore, dated 1894, shows a whole orange-skinned citrus fruit above a cross section revealing segments, a central core and several seeds. The pale cream paper is framed by a thin rule and carries handwritten inscriptions with the catalogue number, variety name and date.
