About this work
A watercolor study of a dense cluster of dark blue Petite Syrah grapes with a reddish stem and small branching stalks, rendered with glossy highlights on each berry. Handwritten inscriptions beneath identify the variety, the grower Fred. L. Huemann of Rutherford, Napa County, California, and the date 1902 by the artist Bertha Heiges.
