About this work
A watercolor of a Labrusca grape vine shows three clusters of round fruit ranging from green to reddish purple, hanging from a woody stem with a large lobed green leaf and curling tendrils. The fruit is shaded with soft highlights to suggest its glossy skin. The work is attributed to Deborah Griscom Passmore and dated 1895, held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
