About this work
A watercolor study by Royal Charles Steadman titled Dunkirk (Vitis) shows a hanging cluster of dark purple grapes attached to a green woody vine stem with a short section of cane. The grapes are rendered with soft highlights and subtle reddish tones, set against a plain cream background on a grey mount. The work is part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection held by the National Agricultural Library.
