About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a single plant with a slender pale stem, serrated green leaves, a cluster of small reddish buds at the top, and a fleshy yellowish root system at the base. The sheet is torn along its right edge and carries the handwritten number 1778 in the lower right corner.
