About this work
A watercolor study by Ellen Isham Schutt, dated 1908, shows a whole peach above a halved peach revealing its yellow flesh and reddish pit. The fruit is rendered with careful shading and small dark spots on the skin, and handwritten inventory notes appear in the lower corners of the sheet.
