About this work
This watercolor on cream paper shows a whole peach and a halved peach beside it, with the brown, deeply grooved pit and reddish flesh near the stone visible in the cut half. The fruit is rendered with soft shading and a blush of red over yellow skin, with a faint cast shadow beneath each piece.
