About this work
A watercolor botanical study by Mary Daisy Arnold, dated 1914, shows a whole peach above a cross-section revealing its orange flesh and central pit. The fruit's red-purple skin and soft shading are rendered with careful detail on cream paper, with handwritten labels noting the variety Everbearing and Arlington Farm, Rosslyn, Va.
