About this work
A watercolor botanical study by Ellen Isham Schutt, dated 1908, shows a whole peach above a halved peach revealing its pit. The whole fruit has a red and yellow blush with scattered dark green spots, and the cut half shows pale flesh with red streaks near the pit. The sheet carries handwritten catalogue notes identifying the variety Holderbaum and the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
