About this work
A watercolor on cream paper shows a whole red cherry with its stem and two serrated green leaves, with a halved cherry below revealing its pale flesh and pit. Handwritten notes on the sheet identify the variety as Compass, with sections made from a bush sent to Prof. S.B. Heiges of York, Pa, and the artist's name Deborah Griscom Passmore.
