About this work
A pomological watercolor shows a whole green-and-red apple above a halved specimen revealing its pale flesh and brown seeds, set on a cream sheet. The handwritten inscription identifies the fruit as the Chalco (Gap x Chinese hybrid) from Luther Burbank, Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co. Calif. signed by Deborah Griscom Passmore and dated 1901.
