About this work
A watercolor on paper shows a whole red-skinned plum above a halved specimen revealing yellow-orange flesh and a central pit. The fruits are rendered with soft shading and cast shadows on a pale ground, with an inscription naming Eagle Baker Bros of Fort Worth, Tarrant Co. Texas, signed by D. G. Passmore and dated 8.19.1901. The sheet is part of the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
