About this work
A watercolor botanical study shows a whole red plum beside a halved plum revealing its yellowish pit and orange flesh. Handwritten inscriptions on the sheet identify the fruit as the Dunlap No. 2 plum from J. H. Kerr of Denton, Maryland, dated 1897 and attributed to Deborah Griscom Passmore. The work is held in the USDA Pomological Watercolor Collection.
